Introduction
This course is designed to broaden the understanding of media beyond traditional uses and to introduce communication and technology as techniques in building public awareness, social behaviour change promotion and community empowerment. Using UNESCO's "Multi-media for Caribbean Communities" project as the framework, the course will outline and investigate the use of resources such as community radio and community multi-media centres as tools for empowerment and effective practical communication.
